2011 European Club Leader Meeting - Warsaw, Poland
Harvard alumni leaders representing 20 Harvard Clubs from across Europe gathered for the Harvard Alumni Association’s 13th annual European Club Leader Meeting, in Warsaw, Poland on September 16-18, 2011. The weekend of meetings and activities gave volunteer leaders the opportunity to build fellowship among the regional volunteers, share best practices, and reconnect with the University.
A full-day business meeting provided panels for volunteers to sharing insights on organizational development, scholarship programs to support local students, and marketing and communication strategies. Attendees also learned about the Harvard College Europe program from Sven Beckert, Lard Bell Professor of History. Krzysztof Daniewski MBA ’99 and the Harvard Club of Poland developed a rich cultural program with visits to the Warsaw Uprising Museum and the Frederic Chopin Museum. They also organized an opening dinner for attendees and local alumni with Radek Sikorski, Minister for Foreign Affairs for Poland, and a farewell dinner with remarks from Lech Walesa, Former President of Poland.
The HAA and European Club leaders from across the region look forward to the building on recent successes at the 2012 Alumni Leadership Conference in Cambridge, February 2&3, as well as the 2012 European Club Leader Meeting in Vienna, Austria on September 21-23.
